Who we really are

I imagine lions parade around, not knowing their own magnificence

Only to us are they magnificent

To them, they just are

We parade around, trying to be magnificent

or worse, we try on any magnificence we see around us

We never know our true magnificence

If we are lucky, we can see the magnificence in God

If we trust, we see God wrapped around the human condition of those we love

This illuminates their magnificence

Then, if we are most fortunate, we can trust them

when they say they see the same in us
